Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming!

Let’s show our teachers & staff how much we appreciate all their hard work and dedication to our students! The PTA will be hosting a Teacher Appreciation Drink & Snack Cart during the afternoons and a Waffle Bar Breakfast the morning of May 10th, but we need your help to make each day extra special. (Don’t forget our wonderful specials teachers, office staff, and other school personnel!)

  • May 8th: A Note of Thanks! Send in a homemade thank you card to the teachers and staff.
  • May 9th: Shower with Flowers! Send in a hand-drawn picture of a flower or a real flower.
  • May 10th: Restock Classroom Supplies! Send in a classroom supply from your teacher’s wish list.

Track 3 Student Activities:

General Membership PTA Meeting

There will be a short General Membership PTA meeting during our Spring Festival on April 20th. The purpose of this meeting is to hold elections for PTA Executive Committee positions for the next school year and highlight some upcoming PTA activities and events. The list of nominations are as follows and they will have the opportunity to serve in their position for two years.

A draft PTA budget for the 2018-2019 school year can be found here. This budget is subject to change over the next few months as the PTA finalizes programs and fundraising events for next school year. Spring Festival

The PTA is holding its annual Spring Festival, College Game Day, on April 20th. This wonderful event not only brings our school community together, but also helps to raise money for the many programs and educational devices needed to support our students and teachers. This exciting evening is filled with food trucks, bounce houses, class basket raffles, a silent auction and other fun activities. Local community businesses and larger companies have generously donated a variety of items to the silent auction, helping to make our fundraiser a huge success.

Something NEW for the Spring Festival Silent Auction

We are excited to announce this year we’re going digital! The silent auction opens April 3rd at 8 AM, and the ONLINE portion ends April 19th at 7 PM. After this the auction will transition to a LIVE event during the Spring Festival from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. The last bids will be accepted at 7:30PM during the Spring Festival and winners will be announced in the auditorium at 7:45PM, right before the PTA meeting, “pie the teacher” event, and raffle drawings. Please be prepared to pay for winnings in the auditorium and then you can also pick up the item! If an online bid wins the auction, and the winner is unable to attend the event, then we can make alternate arrangements for payment and pick up.

Spirit Night at Chipotle

On Saturday, March 31, 2018 we will be having a Spirit Night at Chipotle from 4:00-8:00pm. Bring this flyer or show an electronic version to the cashier when you place your order and Chipotle will donate 50% of the proceeds to the Salem PTA from your purchase. The participating Chipotle is located at 1081 Pine Plaza Drive, Apex, NC 27523. Hope to see you there!

Original Works Art Fundraiser

We are excited to announce that the PTA is partnering with Original Works for a fundraiser! With guidance from our wonderful art teacher, Mrs. Malpass, students have created an original artwork piece that you can have reproduced onto a variety of high-quality products. The products range from magnets, mugs, t-shirts and nearly two dozen other products. These would make great Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts. All orders will be taken online.

Tracks 3 & 4 will receive their custom gallery ordering letters by March 9th and orders are due by March 26th.

All orders will be taken online. When you receive your custom gallery ordering letters just follow the directions on the front to place your order. All items will be delivered to the school and then distributed to your child’s classroom. Please consider purchasing an item with your child’s artwork on it.
